Direi che quella è più o meno la fine dell'era che ha visto uno sviluppo lineare dal wire frame al 3D con poligoni solidi. Ci sarebbe anche una versione speciale del linguaggio Amos dedicata al 3D. L'Amos 3D. Negli anni successivi avvenne il BOOM, una specie di corsa all'oro con varie sperimentazioni (ognuno programmava il proprio engine mixando poligoni a grafica bitmap e a seconda delle necessità con o senza illuminazione). Ci furono anche delle Software House come I Vektor Grafix che già negli 80 si specializzarono in questo genere di produzioni. l'Argonaut Software sviluppò insieme a Nintendo il chip Special FX. Insomma, non era difficile capire che quello era il futuro.
